Among the flood of Neorockabilly releases from the British Isles, few caught Joe Psycho´s eye more than this chunk of 12´´ vinyl out on Rage Records back in 1990 . "On Parole" is the only album of the short-lived quartet, who features former Go-Katz bassist Mark Moffat in the line-up. Backed by a great slap bass , excellent guitar play and a tight musicianship, the Mates were following the long British tradition of great, up-tempo Neorockabilly with lyrics beyond the usual "pink Cadillac" and "having a ball" themes , very similar to bands like Restless and the Caravans. Highlights: Nobody´s Guy, Lady Seduction, Eyes That Didn´t Care and Russian Roulette.
